A North Carolina native, Dr. Tyson is a founding member of Carolina Cardiology Associates and has been instrumental in developing the Carolina Regional Heart Center. In addition to being an experienced interventional cardiologist, Dr. Tyson specializes in heart rhythm disorders. He is the director of Carolina Cardiology Associates Electrophysiology (EP) Program, director for High Point Regional Hospital's Outpatient Catheterization and EP laboratories, and serves on the Carolina Regional Heart Center's Board of Directors. He also has established one of the largest implantable defibrillator (AICD) support groups in the South.
Professional focus: Interventional cardiology - angioplasty, atherectomy, cardiac rhythm disorder, ablation therapy, and automatic internal cardiac defibrillators. Dr. Tyson pioneered a number of new procedures in High Point, including: percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), electrophysiology testing (EP), defibrillator insertion, and radio frequency ablation.
